This month’s announcements – new walkers, Malcolm and Jean were welcomed. Reminder that October walk will be on 13th October (not the usual 1st Sunday of the month).
4 non walkers – spent the day in Matlock.
35 walkers set off from the Visitor’s Centre at Carsington Water for an undulating walk taking in various aspects of the Derbyshire countryside. The weather was perfect for walking – warm sunshine and a gentle breeze.
Pub stop today was the Miner’s Arms at Hopton where a group of singers entertained our walkers whilst refreshments were enjoyed.
Nature spots for today – a pair of Great Crested Grebes, Small Heath butterfly and Dave C identified the birdsong of a Linnet.
Norman was thanked for today’s walk, that although longer than usual, was still very enjoyable.
