March 7th
North Wolds; Leader: Dave Dove
This walk as yet has to be planned, however you can be sure of walking over fields, hills, woods and experience mud. There will of course be the customary pub stop.
April 4th
Alston Field
Leader: Norman Emery
A nice spring walk encountering beautiful displays of Daffodils. The walk is of historical interest and dates back to 1587. You will enjoy scenic views followed by a gentle stroll alongside a babbling brook.
May 2nd
Darley Dale
Leaders: Jan and Dave
The stunning display of bluebells in Clough Wood at the beginning of this walk make for a memorable day in the heart of Derbyshire. The terrain is undulating, with lovely views across to Birchover and Stanton Moor during the morning. The Limestone Way takes us to Winster where the Miners Standard pub offers a warm welcome at lunchtime.
The return to Darley Bridge, takes us across open pasture, past Lunter Rocks. There are stunning views across Wensley Dale with Riber Castle near Matlock being discernable in the distance.
June 6th
Castleton/Mam-Tor/Hope/Castleton;
Leader: David Torrington
Leaving Castleton and we head towards Mam-Tor probably the steepest hill the club will encounter, passed Treak Cliff Cavern, Blue John Cavern and onto the Great Ridge with views overlooking Edale and Castleton. Onwards to Hope for the pub stop. A gently stroll heading back alongside the river to take us back to Castleton.
July 4th
Chatsworth/Bakewell/Ashford-On-Water
Leader: Terry Parker
The walk starts off in Chatsworth Park passing by the magnificent House then onwards to the village of Endensor where we will stop for a break. A gentle climb up and over meadows which leads to a wooded area. A path heads downwards through the golf course leading to Bakewell, where we will have lunch by the side of the river. Now refreshed we continue the walk which will take us to Ashford-On-Water.
August 1st
Hade Edge/Homefirth
Leader: Trevor Roebuck
A steady walk desending from Hade Edge heads towards the Reservoir. Onwards and upwards by the woods we follow Kirkless Way and up across the hillside overlooking the valley. Crossing over Browhill Reservoir and past a stream takes us to Holm where we will take time out for the pub stop. Afterwards we cross over fields towards Dingley Reservoir and after a short climb we descend to the road and river leading towards Holmfirth.
September 5th
Flamborough
Leader: Mick Brookes
Starting at Danes Dyke a short walk will leads us to a small beach. A steep climb via steps heads upwards to the cliff top. Following the path to South Landing we will descend to another small beach for a well deserved break for refreshments. Another steep climb and more steps will take us back to the cliff tops where we follow the path to Flambrough Light House where we will stop for lunch and enjoy the views. Taking the footpath to North Landing and Thornwick Bay we then head in land to Flambrough Village. A pub stop has to be decided upon and please note that extra care must be taken whilst walking on cliff paths as at times there are sheer drops.
October 3rd
Baslow, The Edges
Leader: Brenda Carbutt (Our very first female leader)
Lets hope for a fine day as this walk will afford spectacular views, with an array of great Autumn colours. This is a nice easy stroll through moorland.
7th November
Hartoft End / Rosedale / Hartoft End
Leaders: Jan and Dave
A truly beautiful circular walk beginning at Hartoft End in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors. Climbing gently along a quiet lane then crossing open moorland to Hartoft Rigg the view point where we stop for coffee affords stunning views across Rosedale valley. On a clear day it is possible to see the ancient relic, Ana Cross on the opposite ridge. After dropping steeply down to the quiet village of Rosedale Abbey for lunch. The journey back to Hartoft takes us along the edge of Spaunton Moor with superb views of the paths taken earlier in the day.
December 5th
Hathersage

As this walk is prior to our Christmas dinner it is planned to be just long enough to provide our members with an appetite.
